SEARCH ENGINES: SUBMIT OR NOT TO SUBMIT? THAT IS THE QUESTION.
In the early days of search engine optimization, web site owners would submit their site to the search engines several times, sometimes every day. Some people might even do that now. At one point it might have proved to be effective, but eventually the search engines started blocking sites that were over submitted. Some sites were possibly banned for over submitting. This caused some concerns and confusion with web masters. Should they submit on a regular basis or not at all? There was a sense of fear or even trepidation when facing the prospect of submitting your site to search engine. After all, they have put a lot of time and resources into their site. They didn’t want to do anything that would get their site banned. So what are you to do?
The common consensus is to submit your site only one and to do it manually. Do not submit your site with automate software. Make sure you follow each search engines’ policy when you submit. Then site back and monitor your site. Check back in a few months. If you still aren’t listed perhaps you should re-submit or contact the search engine to see why they haven’t listed your site (don’t hold your breath!)
Another thing to consider is to not submit your site at all. The internet is in essence a loosely connected network of sites linking to each other. Just get some relevant links to your site. The search engine spiders will eventually crawl and find these links and then index your site.
